In a last-minute invitation, Apple has scheduled an event for Nov. 10, 2020. Pro users are most interested in the possibility of Apple unveiling the new Mac hardware that was announced during WWDC’20; the Macs are expected to be the first devices utilizing Apple’s custom silicon-on-a-chip (SoC). It’s also expected that Apple will make macOS Big Sur available to the masses.

It is rumored that Apple will have a new Mac mini ready for the fourth quarter of 2020, and some signs point to the company also releasing a laptop in its MacBook lineup and perhaps even a new iMac–the rest of its offerings would transition to the new hardware over the course of its two-year roadmap.

BenQ GV1 review: Tiny portable projector will break your heart

BenQ’s GV1 portable projector looks like a robot you’d see in the background of a Pixar movie. Or in the real world, like a Bluetooth speaker. It’s inexpensive, but its resolution is only standard definition and its image brightness is, well, not so bright. There isn’t even a real HDMI input, though it does come with a dongle so you can connect HDMI sources. In short, this pipsqueak’s design is pretty much the only reason to love it. It’s so cute I couldn’t help but introduce it to my Dōmo-kun — they’re roughly the same size at just 6 inches tall, and during my review period the two became fast friends.

  • Inexpensive and compact
  • Did I mention adorable?

Don’t Like

  • Low resolution
  • Not very bright
  • Weak built-in app store

I didn’t have the heart to tell Dōmo how I really felt about the GV1. BenQ basically stuffed a bunch of aging tech into a tiny, adorable box. I like that there’s a built-in battery, but the overall package is far outmatched by other portable projectors that cost just a bit more.

That disappointing picture quality, along with numerous usability issues I found during testing, made me want

A change to qualifications could bring families more money.

Angela Lang/CNET

The stimulus check qualifications may change in a second payment — so you won’t automatically be eligible if you got the first check. And to make matters worse, eligibility rules for a second check could actually become even more convoluted depending on the final results of Tuesday’s election. A new economic rescue bill could include assistance for more people, but we will have to wait and see what ends up in the final stimulus package.

Factors that come into play when eligibility rules are set include your yearly incomeage, number of dependentschild support situationtax status, citizenship and the age of people in a household. Some people may even be able to claim a catch-up first stimulus check for missing dependents or if they’re in the prison system. We break it all down below and frequently update this story.
