Anker’s Soundcore Rave Neo review: This under-$100 portable party speaker sounds surprisingly good

Anker has been making some surprisingly good portable Bluetooth speakers for $100. Not too long ago I reviewed the Soundcore Motion Plus ($100), which is a little bigger than your typical compact wireless speaker, but delivers bold sound for its size with plump bass. The Rave Neo is a different beast — it’s referred to as a “party speaker” and has a built-in handle and LEDs — but it, too, costs $100 and packs some good punch.

Like

  • Plays loud for its size with plump bass.
  • Easy to carry around with integrated handle.
  • IPX7 waterproof.
  • Built-in LEDs pulse to your music.
  • USB-C charging.
  • Less than $100.
  • Can be wirelessly linked with other Rave Neo and Soundcore Flare speakers.

Don’t Like

  • Some may find lights unnecessary.
  • Mono sound.

Anker describes the sound as “colossal.” I wouldn’t go quite that far, but it can play pretty loud — it’s rated at 50 watts, for whatever that spec is worth — and pushes out a good helping of bass (it sounds best with the BassUp bass boost mode always activated). The sound isn’t exactly refined, but the sound profile works well outside or in a bigger space because the bass gets dispersed and

How can I track my stimulus check status? Here’s how to use the IRS’ free site

An online tool can help tell you when your stimulus money is coming.

For the most up-to-date news and information about the coronavirus pandemic, visit the WHO website.

Figuring out when you’ll receive your coronavirus stimulus check of up to $1,200 shouldn’t be a hassle. That was the impulse behind the IRS’ tracking portal, which the agency created to let you see your check’s status. Called Get My Payment, the online app can show you if the IRS is processing your payment, and whether it’ll arrive in the mail as a paper check or prepaid debit card or via direct deposit to your bank account. The tool will also alert you to any problems you may need to address before the IRS can process your money.

We’ll explain how to use Get My Payment, including the details you should have on hand before you begin.

For more information about stimulus checks, here’s what to do if you think your payment might not arrive at all. Plus, these are the latest details about a second round of stimulus checks and how much money you might get. We update this story often.

iPhone 12: The 3 new things business pros need

At WWDC 2020, Apple might give business users and developers the features they want most in the next iPhone. Erik Eckel shares his iPhone 12 wish list.

The features business pros need in Apple’s iPhone 12, especially as increasing numbers of users are more dependent upon mobile devices while weathering the COVID-19 pandemic, are: More styles, faster performance, and better pricing. Here are details about each iPhone 12 wish list item that I hope is announced at WWDC 2020.

More styles than the iPhone 11

Let’s start with more models. Instead of three sizes—the iPhone 11 offers the 5.8″ iPhone 11 Pro, the 6.1″ iPhone 11, and the 6.5″ iPhone 11 Pro Max—the iPhone 12 is expected to come in four versions. Tech industry observers expect the new lineup to include a 5.4″ iPhone 12, a 6.1″ iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1″ iPhone 12 Pro, and a bigger 6.7″ iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The new lineup would provide a little something for everyone, from employees requiring basic features and functionality to surprisingly capable handhelds for more demanding staff, such as engineers and sales and marketing professionals. From small
